Alright so I got a package last year that gave me all tv channels, well this year it just costs too much so I went to remove it... when I got this, it included 25Mbit internet as part of the package... which I later bumped up to Blast for $10 more a month... which Comcast then upgraded blast to 105Mbit... which was nice for $10 more...
called yesterday to drop the package back for TV because we don't watch premium channels much and have no real need for it...
the guy on the phone kept telling me if I drop my TV package down I am no longer eligible for 105 Mbit internet *scratches head* seriously? he said it was part of my package deal...
well when I signed up it wasn't I added it on for $10 more a month
well looked at my last bill and there is no longer a $10 a month charge for blast.. it was there until 3 months ago apparently after looking through my old bills... how would they merge something into a package like this without telling me?
anyways I kept fighting with him over this and he refused to change my package without dropping my internet pack down to performance 25Mbit... ugh I threatened to drop TV all together which was met with a response of "If you drop TV, the maximum speed you can get is 25Mbit internet, anything higher is a package deal only"... I know this was a BS argument to hold me in place... so I said fine I'll just drop it all and go to the Fiber 505 residential plan...
which was met back with "You do not qualify for that plan" told him yes I do, I had talks in the past about possibly going that route to see if they would run fiber to me, and the answer was yes. which was met back with "But you can't watch TV on that"... then "Fiber is a very expensive route to take, it's in your best interest to stay with your TV package"
called back after hanging up on him to get someone else that gave me a similar speel... last time I dropped something they basically fell to their knees giving me "free upgrades" which is how I got to have all these premiums which I don't watch... which are now out of promotion and back to full cost.. now I am having a hard time getting rid of them..... ugh!
sorry had to rant... sometimes this package stuff just irks me off.... especially when your bill changes without notice (merge products) and they also just increased my eMTA rental fee to $12 a month...... it was $8 a year ago.... $10 a half year ago now it's $12.... if I didn't use voice I'd of dropped that so fast... probably time to get another cust owned one... already did that for another house account...
