Comcast was charging my MIL $160/mo for phone and HD digital lineup. She is old, has altzheimers, and we weren't aware she killed her copper phone line. She has a small TV, and SD was more than enough.
This past week, we had Verizon install service. I returned all the Comcast Equipment, and today see her account is still active, it says her active service is internet. She has no computer and prior to my returning the equipment only had the TV/Phone.
I called today, and Comcast said I'm not authorized to talk to them. Do I realy need to get a Power of Attorney letter to convince them to really finish canceling the account? If the agent sees the account showing all equipment (2 boxes and the phone modem) returned, can't they just agree, the account was meant to be cancelled? When they handed me the receipt for the equipment, I knew it was too easy.
