My wife works from home, so she enjoys some music in the background. Having a TV on is totally against the rules of the Work @ Home program.
So, I turn on a Music Choice channel with the TV on to find the channel she wants, then turn the TV off. Within 3-5 minutes the audio turns off on the X1 box. I flip the TV on, and the audio returns.
I'm using the optical output from the X1 directly into the optical input of my Panasonic Surround Sound system. No audio is hooked up at all directly to the TV.
Anyone know if this is by design; if you're not watching their commercials, you don't get any audio? I have figured out a simple way around this, I just flip over to an unused video input, which blanks the screen, but the TV is still on.
