Good morning,
I recently ordered an Xfinity X1 Triple Play package with the Anyroom DVR function and a secondary X1 stand-alone receiver for a bedroom.
The house is currently wired with COAX in all of the necessary rooms as I had Comcast a couple years back with a single X1 DVR and a cable modem.
I chose the self-install option as I am technically inclined and work in the IT field. As such, I have no problem running additional coax myself if need-be, or anything else that may be necessary as part of the install.
However, I was wondering if anyone could provide a basic wiring diagram or breakdown of how the X1 Anyroom DVR system will be set up, since I have never had or worked with that system before and I'm not familiar with it.
I will have:
Xfinity Wireless Gateway/Voice Modem
X1 Anyroom DVR in Livingroom
X1 Stand-alone box in Master Bedroom.
I have read about MoCA filters and possible amps that are installed as part of this setup on occasion. I do know that when I had the DVR/Modem a couple of years ago, the signal coming into the house was too "hot" and had to be attenuated down several dB. Not sure if those are required on all installs or not.
Thanks for any info you can provide to give me a better picture of the Anyroom/Whole House setup.
