Yesterday (Thursday 12-15-16) I got home and turned on the TV to watch some recorded shows. I noticed that using the page up that did a 30 second skip was set to skip 5 minutes. It was never like that even when I first received the X1 box a year ago. So likely a software update from that morning changed it. So I looked online and found some codes that were supposed to correct this back (Watch live TV and then press exit 3 times then enter 0030). Tried several times and did not work.
I tried to un-pair and pair the remote back, still did not fix the issue.
I finally called Comcast got to this woman and explained the issue and she said that the receiver should have never allowed 30 second skip and that it should be 5 minutes forward or back. I tried to explain further that it has never been that way and always 30 sec forward and 15 sec back. She refused to transfer me to someone else indicating that she was "Executive Support".
Needless to say, I hung up and called back. Explained to the next guy the issue and the experience I had with the prior tech. He said yes she was wrong and in fact it should be 30 sec forward and 15 back unless you change it.
I told him the steps I took and he said that was good as those were the steps he would have had me do. The last step was to power off and back on again the receiver itself. Once back up the 30 second skip forward and 15 second back worked again.
Geesh!
