We are returning our small Comcast TV adapter box (the one with a 5.99/mo charge) and want to just use a smart TV, perhaps 35-45 inch size in WiFi streaming mode. We know that works fine since we can connect all existing desktops, tablets and phones via tv.xfinity.com and stream live TV.
Question is, what kind of smart TV would we get? Is there one favored by the community group here? In case it matters, we still have a single primary smart TV which uses the X1 box connection but we have comcast primarily for internet, the tv channels are for guests.
Is there a smart TV that is optimal for viewing live comcast channels, similar to using our tablets and connecting to tv.xfinity.com ? Since it would have no cable or HDMI connected, is there a model that would always start in Browser Mode and land itself on the Live TV display? Yes, I do understand that I can manually start the Browser and set up in Settings a web address to be a permanent Start Page. Am hoping it would not be necessary to Login with userid/password just as we don't have to do that on our tablets since the App stores the logon in perpetuity.
Would a Roku capable smart TV add value? Again, to be clear, we don't watch TV, this would only be for visitors.
