If you have a DVD Recorder, while it will play DVDs, the X1 device prevents it from recording. That I absolutely hate because I like to record things without commercials.
If you do use the X1 DVR to record something without commercials and decide to watch the show later, the show will not semlessly transition from one segment to the other.
Does anyone see the day when Comcast will allow you the option of recording a show without commercials as well as being able to watch the show on your desktop computer so you can burn it to DVD?
Despite all this, I do think that the X1 device is great especially the voice command. Shows you how far we have come. It also Makes it easy to flip to your favorite channel by pressing the microphone button and saying th channels name. It's also a great way to find out if you have access to a channel or not if you know what I mean.
