I'm a relatively new Comcast customer and have the x1 DVR system with 4 additional boxes. Since the first day or two after the installation we've been having problems where a few recordings will stop playing at a specific time and you won't be able to go past it even though the full recording seems to be there. Also, out of nowhere we'll be watching a channel and the channel icon will suddenly appear with the 3 blinking dots and either the channel will resume or the box will switch to the last channel viewed. It doesn't happen every hour or every day but it happens enough to be pretty annoying. It happens on all boxes so it isn't isolated to one area of the house. I notified technical support the first week and they refreshed the signal and a week or so later I called back and they rebooted the system. The third time I called I was told that either they could send a tech out the investigate or that I could try swapping the boxes out at my nearest Comcast store (which doesn't make sense as we couldn't have been given all bad boxes and from what I understand they act independently when it comes to live TV). I would go with the tech visit but my issue with that is that I reported this within a week after the install and was told that any work the tech does will incur a charge which I don't think is right given that this was a fresh installation.
So I was wondering if this was a well-known bug or if this is something unique to our install.
