I recently upgraded to Comcast Xfinity X1 with 2 DVR's (they can't give out 3, really??) and 1 HD box.
All 3 lose display brightness & video resolution settings over night. I called Comcast and they blame disconnecting from the network as the problem and sent a reset signal (their cure for everything) which of course didn't solve the problem. My response to them, this is a local setting on the device, there must be a way to save these settings as permanent and actually the resolution setting does ask if you want to keep it. They have no clue.
All three at 3am reset back to defaults which tells me they get a signal from Comcast to do so which they claim they don't. So why do they all reset at 3am every single night? My wife HATES the clock blasting her eyeballs at a brightness setting of 10.
Now they want to send a tech to check it out, my experience with Comcast techs are that they are techs in name only, I have yet to see one with any technical ability, not to be rude, this has been my experience.
Am I alone in this problem?
