Switching to Comcast from AT&T, and there is an old, cut off cable coming out of conduit that goes from my house to the pedestal, maybe 30 feet max. It's over 30 years old, and cut off too short to do a proper service loop or anything, on the house. Comcast has assured me that the installer is responsible for everything from the street to my modem, so I'm pretty sure there would be no problem replacing it. Easy pull too.
I do ViaSat internet, so I'm in the same industry, essentially.
That said, we all know some people cut corners, some don't. Is Comcast usually good about using flooded cable, or whatever is the best? I only ask because I don't want to take any chances with the cable from the pedestal to the house, and wouldn't have a problem getting a piece ahead of time, just to be safe.
