Why can’t Comcast outfit our local hospital with HD quality service? In 2018 you would think this technology would be available. I get that the in patient TV’s are unique and mostly powered by the get well network, but what about all of the waiting room tv’s? I’m looking at an LG TV about 55 to 65 inches and HGTV is on in all it’s analog grainy worse than SD digital “quality”. When I stayed at a hotel, every channel was digital, most of them in HD, about 50 channels... no guide but it was crisp and clear and when you changed the channels, they were all labeled properly.
Working with Comcast business class techs through work, one guy said there is something he referred to as Q to Q (I guess QAM to QAM) that he’s installed in hospitality settings and yes it is possible to get HD (like I experienced) in every room without a set top box. He said some smaller operations may use HD DTA’s on every TV.
The point is, this new wing of the local hospital just went into service about 3 to 3 1/2 years ago, and I’m surprised to see technology galore with computers and CISCO 3700i 802.11ac AP’s literally every 50 feet, but no HD TV.
