The internet service is out, but cable tv is working. However I can't change channel or view the guide.
When I try to change channels or view the guide, I get a message "we're having trouble connecting to the internet". The tuner is stuck on the channel that it was tuned to when the internet went down.
Additionally the smartphone remote app won't work, even if I'm connected to Xfinity wifi hotspot.
I can't believe that they require internet to change channels on the cable box, but apparently it's the case.
Any help, tips etc appreciated.
