You probably wouldn't notice unless you use a cable card, but back in February my Sundance channel changed to have DRM (copy once) protection. I have had access to the channel (164) for many years with my HDHomeRun device without problems. But with DRM protection I can no longer watch the channel.
Anyone else see this? I know other cable providers (spectrum?) have used DRM on lots of channels without any need and frustrated many cable card users. But until now Comcast seemed to only put DRM on pay channels (HBO, Showtime, etc.). Is this the beginning of a new, unfortunate trend?
Also, FWIW, I opened a support ticket to report this problem. But it's been more than 3 weeks and Comcast has neither confirmed, nor denied, nor undone this bogus setting. They seem to be stonewalling me. I would appreciate an answer from the company, since they have effectively removed one of my channels without informing me.
