Chicago Cubs are ‘close’ to getting their Marquee Sports Network on Comcast, Crane Kenney says

The team is close to finalizing an agreement with several carriers, including Comcast, to carry their televised games on the Marquee Sports Network.
“The pace has picked up dramatically, and I would just say we were very close to a deal,” Crane Kenney, the Cubs president of business operations, told the “Dan Bernstein Show” on WSCR-AM 670 on Thursday.

But as recently as Friday, the sides exchanged term sheets, and conversations resumed this week to the point where “I would expect we do reach an agreement with Comcast,” Kenney said.
An agreement could arrive in time for exhibition games against the White Sox before the season opener on either July 23 or 24.
“The pace has picked up, and we’re optimistic we’ll get some things on here soon,” Kenney said. …
