Just had service installed yesterday and the All On button on the remote is messing us up. It turns on and off both the TV and the STB. Can this be changed so that it only turns the TV on and off and leaves the STB on? This is because we travel a lot and like to watch via Slingbox. If the STB is off, we can't watch via Slingbox. Also, if someone turns off the TV with the TV's own remote, then the next time someone pushes the All On button (thinking this will turn everything on), then the TV turns on and the STB turns off, which results in a black screen.
I could tell everyone never to press the All On button and just use the small button on top of the remote or the TV remote when the TV needs to be turned off, but it would be a lot easier for my family and visitors if I could set it so that the All On button leaves the STB alone and just turns the TV on and off.
Is that possible? I read somewhere that it is possible to set macros that alter the functions of the buttons on the remote.
