I'm trying to help someone set up their Comcast STBs (provided by the condo). They have two SD boxes, the one we're setting up is a DC50X (coax in and out, no other video connectors) and the label asks for 5V/0.9A input. The other one is somewhere (not connected) and apparently the same.
There are two AC adapters, they look identical including the labels. Until you read them closely, one says it outputs 6V/0.7A and the other 5V/1.2A. Neither actually matches what the STB is asking for.
Normally I'd assume it's for something else and that they're not the right AC adapters. But one of them (the 6V/0.7A) says on the label, "For use with Pace DC50X only" (!!).
Are there different Revs of this STB with different power requirements? I can try to track down the other STB. But even if the other STB matches one of these AC adapters, this 5V/0.9A will still match neither.
Any advice? Walking into Comcast would be beyond the last resort and something I want to strongly recommend against if at all possible. :)
[Sorry, to add to the confusion, the PDF Quick Start manual linked from this page https://www.pace.com/universal/support/pace-dc50x/#.UwwqUoUZdvg has an illustration showing a DC50X saying "6V/0.7A". So maybe there are three versions, the STB I'm aware of and STBs with power requirements matching the two adapters? So Comcast may have miscollated and provided the wrong adapter for one of these STBs at least?]
Thanks!
