So, I've had X1 for a couple of weeks, and so far so (mostly) good.
Tonight, I had recorded a show, and had another show set to record later (at 8 PM). I start watching the first (completed) show at about 7:45 PM. About 1/2 way through the half-hour recorded show, it suddenly freezes. I grumble, exit, and try to resume. Black screen, but it says it is playing. I now notice that this happened at about 8 PM. Hmm, that's when my 2nd recording was supposed to start. I try to restart the recorded show from the beginning, hoping I can fast forward. Nope. Black screen (it still claims to be playing). Finally, I decide to watch the 2nd show that started recording at 8, and I hope that I will be able to go back to the first show later. I start watching at about 8:05 or 8:10, and the recording seems to be starting already into the show. Hmm. I exit, then try to restart from the beginning, and it's definitely starting from a later point in the show, probably live. Great.
Now that my TV wasn't working, I started reading forums, and I see lots of X1 problems, but not THIS particular problem. Is this just another example of X1 messing up? Is this the sort of thing I should expect from time to time? I'm hopeful that once the 2nd show is finished recording in a few minutes, I can unplug the box, wait a few minutes for the boot cycle, and both of my shows will be there. But it's definitely not something I ever experienced with the old Motorola STB.
