Cisco RGN200 and Samsung Smart TV.
My experience less all the techs I talked to and endless internet searches that revealed clues but nothing step by step are retold in this narrative. Long story shortened to the very basic options in the Comcast/Cisco RNG200 and Samsung Smart TV
Once you get the components connected and the cable box and TV are connected with an HDMI cable, follow these steps to get the best results I found using HD service (1080i). Once again this involved a Samsung Smart TV and the Cisco RNG200 (Not the RNG200N, but may be similar.)
Turn the TV and Cable box on. You should have some sort of picture. The Samsung TVs Picture Size settings should be set to Screen Fit. You can experiment with others later. You will be back.
Turn the RNG200 off. On the remote, push the Guide Button. Insure the Settings are:
TV TYPE 16:9
HDMI/YPbPr OUTPUT 1080i
4:3 OVERRIDE Stretch
If these settings are not correct you can change each using the up/down right/left keys on the remote. Once the settings have been verified, push the Exit Button.
Push the HD ZOOM Button (under the 9 button) and the HDTV Setup Wizard will appear. Push the A (lock) Button to start the wizard. Press the A to select Easy Setups. (Feel free to press the "B" button and experiment if you wish.) Press the B Button for 16:9. Close by pressing the Power Button.
Now you can experiment with the Picture Sizes on the TVs settings.
