Anyone else?
Got home this evening at about 8PM to find MANY missing channels in all service tiers from basic cable through paid premiums. I'm using a Tivo Roamio with a cable card and early on I determined by looking at the Tivo diagnostic screen that the missing channels showed low to zero signal. Adjacent channels that worked showed NORMAL signal level (80% in my case).
Possibly coincidental, but we were at a nearby restaurant with lots of cable TV screens before we came home and some were badly pixelated like the ones here that are marginal instead of totally dead. Not sure if they were on Comcast, but an interesting coincidence if nothing else.
I called Comcast at about 8PM and THREE AND A HALF HOURS LATER (11:30PM my time) they decided to roll a truck. This after four different attempts to hit the cable card, AT LEAST six transfers including one to Tivo support (ie., completely away from Comcast) when they were supposed to be transfering me to the cable card department. Tivo was not amused ;) The Comcast support person Tivo called back with me on the line eventually hung up on Tivo.
Fortunately, the truck roll is for tomorrow afternoon so I won't have too long to wait. But I am beyond furious at the totally inept Comcast support people I spoke with. They seemed absolutely clueless when a cable card hit didn't resolve it. One actually asked me a couple times what I wanted her to do.
Stay tuned ;) I'm not at all sure the problem is local to me, but we'll see.
