This is kind of a carry-over from this topic re: Comcast pushing cloud DVR only...of which I thought deserved it's own topic:
https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32392643-
(While I do understand that channel groupings & availability vary between systems, I thought at least this would give folks some basic info (& caution) if they want to go to these new pkgs)
Here is our fairly recent local channel guide with the 3 Flex TV packages, which if you combine all 3 (with limited basic) gives you what is called Extra TV - which is similar, but NOT exactly the same as Digital Starter. You can also see on the 3rd page what our existing Digital Starter pkg looks like; I was told at our local office, that only subs that already have it can keep & new subs cannot get it - so once you get rid of if it, you can't get it back.
The differences in a nutshell, in our case, between these old & new channel packages:
WGN America, WE, & Investigation Discovery - NOT available in ANY of the new packages, but continue to be available on Digital Starter (& the old Digital Preferred)
Travel Ch, TV Land, & Game Show Net - Requires (new) Digital Preferred tier to get, but continue to be available on Digital Starter (& old Digital Preferred)
Another change on double & triple play Digital Preferred TV packages to note - Starz used to come with both of these packages; that is NO longer the case with the new versions of these packages
If anyone has similar info for their system, I think if would be great to post in this topic - since Comcast doesn't exactly spell these changes out in detail. :uhh: (& if I made any mistakes on my differences, please feel free to tell me :) )
