I took a double play promo with Comcast that was cheaper than my internet only package and they issued me a DVR. I hooked up the DVR using a splitter to the TV in the living room (which is next to the modem). I would like to get TV on the third story bedroom but the Xfinity Stream App is giving me an error message saying your package doesn't include any channels. I have Comcast internet service with a Netgear CM1000 modem and Orbi router. There is no cable wiring on the third floor because the house was rewired and all the existing wires were cut. The cable coming in is all fresh installs with two Xfinity gray boxes on the side, two overhead drops and when I was originally installed the guy had to install a new outlet because the original outlet was in a different room. I wouldn't mind getting an outlet installed as there is a hole left behind from an old satellite install (landlord took out the half dozen satellite dishes on the house and lease prohibits satellites so we are only allowed to have cable and are allowed to install cable).
